That is why, if we want to enjoy music on our Discord server, we can do it by linking our Spotify account or by inserting a Bot. In this way, while we chat with our friends or play online, we can listen to music in a very simple way, as we are going to see below.

How to put music on Discord with Spotify

The only way we have available on Discord to play music without using a Bot is by linking it with our Spotify account, the popular streaming music platform. For this, the first thing will be open a free account on Spotifyif we still do not have it, for which we must click on this link to their official website. Later we click on the “REGISTER” button for which we can use our email or directly with our Google or Facebook. Once registered, we must access and choose any topic we want to hear.

Next, we open Discord and we are going to click on the gear icon that we find in the lower left, which will take us to the User settings. Here, we click on “Connections” and look for the spotify icon in the “Connect your accounts” tab.

This will open a browser window for us to enter our Spotify credentials and accept the terms by clicking on the button. “To accept” at the bottom of the screen.

Later a notification should appear that says “You connected your Spotify account to Discord”.

Your Spotify account has been connected to Discord

If we go to Discord we will check how the account has been linked and now we can start listening to songs in the application.

In the event that we do not want to use Spotify, we can also choose different Bots through which we can play music on our server.

    FreBoat

If we want to add music to our calls with Discord, we must configure a Bot called fredboat. To do this, we must click on this link to your website and click on the button Invite to Server.

    FreBoat add to server

On the next screen we must choose the Discord server to which we want to add it and click on the purple button. Authorize.

    Discord authorize to use FreBoat

Next, we check the box I’m human.

Now we go back to Discord and click on the voice channel. Next, we only have to tell FredBoat which song we want the bot to play using the command:

    play [URL]

For example, we can tell it to play a YouTube video by what it would be:

    play https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5arYRWrsYnI

Unlike searching for a specific URL, we can also search for the name of the song by typing “play name of song”. It is possible to stop playback by typing “stop”. Additionally, it is possible to use commands to allow others on our channel to vote to skip the currently playing song.

Next, a screen appears where we must select Discord server to which we want to add Vexera and click on “Continue”.
