The operators They allow you to watch your television on a multitude of devices. For example, we can watch pay TV on mobile phones, televisions, computers, tablets, multimedia players, TV Sticks, and basically anything with a screen. However, playing certain content away from home or on multiple devices at the same time can become an impossible task.
With football, for example, operators do not allow viewing content away from home on a device such as a mobile. And even at home you may have problems when it comes to playing it on multiple devices depending on the size of the screen.
Problems using two devices at the same time on Orange
Some Orange users frequently complain that they get an error saying that «This content is being viewed simultaneously on multiple devices. Please end the playback on one of them and try again ». Another error that may appear is “This channel is being watched on another device”.
Orange TV allows you to have up to five paired devices to view its content, but it is only possible view the same content on two devices simultaneously. It is possible to view content on a third device, as long as the content seen on it is different from the previous two, and one of them has an Orange deco and a Smart TV with the Orange TV app.
However, when it comes to seeing a same content at the same time on two devices in Orange, it must be taken into account that the type of device can limit the viewing experience. For example, with Movistar soccer channels, such as Movistar Liga de Campeones or Movistar LaLiga, it is necessary to have a device with a large screen and another with a small screen.
These are all device combinations
Thus, on a large screen device, such as a deco, a Smart TV, Chromecast, or Fire TV Stick, it is possible to view the content in HD. To be able to view content on a second device, it is necessary for the second device to have a small screen such as a smartphone, tablet or PC. And on that second device, the quality will be limited to SD.
In the table above we can see the devices that we can combine. For example, we can use the Smart TV app and a mobile, but not the Smart TV app and the deco to see it on another TV. What we can do, for example, is watch it on a Smart TV, and then have the PC connected to another TV, although in this second case with limited quality.
In the event that you get the error even though you are not watching television on a device, you should change channels before turning off the TV. If you turn it off without changing the channel, the deco will keep the session open so you cannot put the same channel on another device.
