When making your reports or work and you want it to reach its recipient, you know that it is necessary that at the time of sending the information you have to be sure that the email address is accurate so that it reaches its final recipient promptly.
It is the same in the case of the internet, each computer that has an external or internal network must have an access number to ensure that the computers can communicate with each other.
These numbers are called IP address whose acronym in English stands for Internet Protocol Addres, which is intended to communicate on networks.
This delegates to each device a unique address in order to communicate over the internet, that is, each device has a different address that allows us to locate it on the network, whether external or internal.
The IP address fulfills the basic role for transmitting the sender-recipient information. For example, if your computer sends data to your router in advance, with the IP header, mark the IP from which the data comes from, with which the recipient receives it in this case.
When the devices that act as sender and recipient agree, they are intertwined in the same network, whether public or private.
The public address is set by the internet network provider, this network appears the moment you restart your router, mostly this network is dynamic because when it is automatically restarted, the internet connection appears on your computer, in addition to other computers they can be connected through a single network provider.
On the other hand, the private address is fixed on each computer individually, that is, one computer does not depend on the other to connect.
These addresses consist of four blocks of numbers that start from 0 to 255 and are distinguished by being separated by a period, each one of them has a length of 32 bits composed of two groups, one for the network and the other for the host.
There are also dynamic and static addresses, the dynamic ones to connect in a normal way on the internet that allows you to change your address constantly, unlike the static one that does not change, it is fixed on your connected equipment.
Static steering is faster and more stable plus you can monitor and control its use from external parties. These addresses can be configured from a router, server, or swich.
What is a switch?
A switch is a mechanism that allows you to interconnect a local network (LAN) determined by Ethernet or what is known as IEEE 802.3. A switch has the purpose of hooking devices on the network but with the connection of the router.
These switches achieve interconnection through the cabling system, as this mechanism is one of the most stable and capable of meeting your needs.

How can you easily configure a static IP address on a D-Link switch?

Step 1
Enter your “browser” and immediately include your IP address in your switch with the address 192.168.0.1. Where the web navigation box appears.
Step 2
Look in your configuration console at the top the tab “Start”, press click and it will show you the configuration of the IP address of your computer.
Step 3
Now choose to “On” (in English “Enabled”) on the tab static IP address (in English “Static IP Address”), enter the name in the text box.
Step 4
Finally, enter the IP address in the second box, then click on “Apply” so that in this way you can save the configuration. Now you can view the static IP on your switch.
