One of Valheim’s most useful tools is undoubtedly the construction of Teleportation portals. These allow us to travel between distant areas without having to cross the entire map on foot.
In the following guide we leave you all the information necessary to build a portal, the requirements to be met and their operation. Do not miss it!
How to teleport in Valheim
The first thing we have to do to get a portal is to get the materials necessary. These can be obtained from defeating Eikthyr, the first zone chief, since we will get the Beak of horns.
materials | amount | obtaining |
---|---|---|
gray dwarf eye | 10 | By defeating Gray Dwarves |
noble wood | twenty | Hardwood is obtained by cutting down birch and oak trees. A bronze ax is needed. |
heart of heart | 2 | Heart of Surtling can be obtained from burial chambers in Mirkwood or by defeating the Surtlings themselves. |
Once the materials are obtained, it is time to manufacture the portal. We can build it both outdoors and indoors, but we recommend doing it inside a safe place so that it does not suffer. We will need a Work bench close and we will only have to build it with the hammer.
Now, for the portal to work we need the two extremes are connected, since it has to have an input and an output. To connect them we just have to make sure that they both have the same name. It is very important to be exact, so you have to take into account the capital letters as well.
Materials that cannot be teleported
The portals could not be perfect and there are objects that we will not be able to take in our inventory through them. The materials are as follows:
- Tin
- Tin ore
- Scrap
- Silver
- Dragon’s Egg
- Copper
- Copper ore
- Iron
- Iron ore
- Silver ore
- Black metal scrap
- Flametal
- Flametal ore
- Bronze
If we want to transport these objects we will have to do it through boats, so it is important to know the different types of boats and what we can transport in them.
