Being able to edit images is made much easier with the right choice of editing software. In today’s market there are several to choose from, and usually every editor, illustrator or expert; in general it tends to favor one over the other. And, among all there is, is Corel PhotoPaint.
It is a software part of the Corel suite (the competition of the Adobe suite) that is intended for editing all types of images, as well as creating them. It really is a very complete software with unique tools.
But, like all software editing images, there are specific ways to perform certain actions with its templates, effects, custom brushes and other tools. Such is the case of wanting to create a reflection effect in a text. So if you want to create this effect and be able to create a professional quality image through Corel PhotoPaint, all you have to do is follow the following tutorial.
What is the reflection effect?
When we talk about a reflection effect for text, it can be a bit confusing. But, in reality, we refer to an effect that is made to make it look like a text is reflected on a surface. Basically, it is like putting an object in front of a body of water and it is reflected there.
In essence, it sounds easy to do, and it is, but you have to follow a certain procedure to get the right effect. At the end of the day, making effects in image editing programs is not difficult, but the finishing touch and the quality is what can be a bit difficult.
How can you create a reflection effect for text using Corel PhotoPaint?
As we talked about earlier, creating this reflection effect for a text is not too difficult a task. There are not too many steps to follow, but there is great attention to detail that has to be given in order to obtain a good end result.
At the end of the day, if you do this with patience and attention to detail, they will make it look very different. On the other hand, you can modify some steps or add some personal touches to give it another aspect, because the step-by-step that we are going to give you below is nothing more than what you need to know in terms of the basics of achieving this effect.
Check out everything you need to know below:
- First, you must open the Corel PhotoPaint program with a “blank sheet”.
- Then, with the text tool, write text of the color you want on a background. This background can also be the color you want.
- Now, you have to make the “floor” where the text will be reflected. To do this, select the rectangle shape tool and remove the outline and the irregularly shaped corners. Also, select a color, the one you like.
- Next, create the “floor” of the text by dragging the rectangle just below the line of text. You will also have to make it more opaque using the opacity tool. A 15% or 20% can serve your purposes.
- Now take this moment to be able to position the text correctly on the “ground” , and then select the same to duplicate it in another layer by pressing Ctrl + D.
- With the text duplicated and selected, we will go to the menu that is in the upper bar that says “Object” and through the option of “Reflect” we will select “Vertically “.
- Now lower the reflected text until it is below the text you created and align it correctly. You will see that it takes a little of the color of the ground.
- Once you have the reflected text in position, you must lengthen it with the selection tool. You can lengthen it the way you want, but the idea is not only to lengthen it, but also to give it width in the lower corners. Make sure the letters are aligned.
- At this time you will have to add a gradient through the transparency manager that is preset. The weathered sky will do.
- Drag the tool correctly. You can help yourself with the Ctrl key until you get the desired effect.
It should be noted that thanks to Corel PhotoPaint you can apply different effects to the text of your video, such as making it have a 3D effect to make it much more striking.
