Youtube is the best-known video platform in the world, which is why, although you may have never used it, at least you have listened to it once. It has billions of daily views, as well as a practically incalculable number of users.
It is not for nothing that its popularity is gigantic. Google is the company that is behind this platform, and the one that also makes its very well-known official app available to you that allows us to connect with channels of all kinds and exchange comments with the community as if it were a more social network. This has numerous configuration options that, among other things, allow us to adjust it to notify us of interesting videos and channels to which we are subscribed… This is what we talk about in this post-tutorial, in order to explain how to configure the section from YouTube notifications.
So you can adjust the notifications that YouTube shows you
The Youtube application has a very simple interface that has not really changed dramatically over the years. One of the latest modifications that Google has implemented is the comment box; This change has come after the change of location of some buttons, among other more details.
However, the app still offers the same configurable functions as always, something that is positive. This includes the notifications section, in which there are different boxes that can be activated and deactivated as appropriate, in order to receive only those notices that we want and avoid those that are usually annoying or simply do not want to receive.
To access the YouTube notification department, the first thing to do is open the app, of course. Then, you have to click on the icon of our account, which is the one located in the upper right corner of the interface. Once this is done, in the penultimate option that we find in the window that opens, which is Configuration, is where we must press. Then 12 options will appear, but the one that interests us is the Notifications. It is positioned in the seventh box.
Once we are in Notifications, we will see that there are again 12 boxes that we can either deactivate or activate, with respect to our tastes. By default, they all come on, with the switch passed to the right and in blue, except for Scheduled Summary, which is the first entry located here; This, if activated, provides us with a daily summary at 19:00 of all the notifications that we have recently obtained, as described in the app.
If Subscriptions is activated, we will receive notifications from all those channels to which we have ever subscribed. We recommend enabling it.
If we enter Channel Settings, which is the third box, we will see all the channels in which we are subscribed and the configuration of notifications that we have adjusted for each of these, which are All, Custom and None. Here we can change the notification settings for each channel, just by clicking on the bell next to the name of each one.
If Recommended Videos is activated, we will receive suggestions from Youtube about those videos that we may like, based on our searches and the assimilations that the platform can interpret.
If Activity on my channel is activated, comments and any other activity on our channel or videos will be notified. The same happens with Activity in my comments and Responses to my comments; If these two options are activated, we will obtain all the information regarding the comments we make in any video, be it ours or someone else’s.
