How to apply special effects to bitmap images with Corel Draw
When we use the different tools that Corel Draw has, we can realize that they are very easy to use. As in the case when we want to make a color adjustment to a photograph. But when we talk about effects maybe it can get a bit complicated, so we tell you what you should do.
Before you can apply special effects to bitmap images with CorelDraw, you must do the following. First, you should know that all the effects that you can add to bitmap images are in the Bitmaps tab.
This is in the top menu and here we will see the options for Straighten image, Color mode, Increase limit and Color chew.
First, we will use the Straighten image option, this ideal tool when images are distorted. Either due to problems with the lenses that were taken or at the time of being scanned. When we select this tool, it will present the image on a grid sheet and we can choose different options.
These grids help us to have a clear vision of the effect, and these grids can be changed in color or the number decreased or increased. But the most important options are to correct lens distortion first. Every time you make the correction you must click OK, if you still do not correct the distortion completely, select this tool again.
This action can be carried out as many times as necessary. The other options that we will find in this tool are Rotate the image and Crop image. The next effect is the Color Mode, there we can see different options and these will depend on the final result you want my image to have, such as grayscale, 1-bit Black and white, etc.
Using the color mode tool, increase limit and color mask
When selecting any of the allowed options, it will show me a preview, where I have the original image to my left and the image with the effect to my right. And according to the options you choose to modify the image, these will be applied. To finish we must make a clip in the Accept option.
Within the Color Mode tool, we are going to find a very important option that is widely used for images on the internet and that is Color with a palette. With it we can change the tone of the image, using a different color palette. The next tool we’ll use to apply special effects to bitmap images is Increase Boundary.
By selecting the manual option, we can extend the area of the image and these extra areas will be in white. Whenever you make changes to any parameter, make sure you have the option Keep proportion activated. This tool is ideal for adding texts that are outside the image or inserting a frame, etc.
The last tool is Bitmap Mask, with it you can indicate which colors of the image I want to cover and which colors I can show. So the area that I remove the color will be transparent. And so ends this article that showed you how to apply special effects to bitmap images with CorelDraw.
