Are you left-handed? You’ve probably spent part of your life adjusting to doing a lot of things with your right hand just because not enough left-handed devices have been created. But now the mobile is off that list. Therefore, below we will show you how to activate and configure left-handed mode on my Android mobile, easy and fast.
What is left-handed mode and for which Android phones is it available?
The world has not been responsible for properly creating gadgets that are special for lefties. Rather, they have forced this group of people to change the orientation and use of their dominant hand.
Fortunately, for some years Google has implemented a mode in its Android system that especially benefits this niche. So if you have one of their mobiles, you will have the opportunity to activate this mode and not suffer anymore. By the way, did you know that you can also change the right-click to the left mouse on Windows 10? You can try setting it up after this tutorial.
Left-handed mode is available for Android 4.4 KitKat, Android 9 Pie, Android 8.0 Oreo as well as in many layers of customization such as EMUI Huawei, MIUI Xiaomi, among others. So you have a wide list of options on Android. You just have to find out what version of Android you have installed on your mobile or tablet and see if it is compatible.
How to activate and configure left-handed mode on my Android mobile
Before starting, you should know that depending on the device in which you do it, the names of the options may vary just a little. But, it is actually a quick and easy process, it will take you a couple of minutes to execute. With that said, we can start with the process:
Activate Developer Options
To start, you will only need your Android mobile, you will not need any external program or application. First, you must go to the Settings section, and then search among the last options, the System section. When in section you must click on Phone information> Build number.
In this last option, you must press several times in a row until you get a window where you must enter the PIN, thus you will activate the developer options. If you could not do it, you can check other methods to activate the developer options on your Android device.
Activate left-handed mode from Developer Options
Now you must go back to Settings> System but now within this section, you must click on Options for developers. Once inside this last option, you must scroll up until you reach the option Force RTL design direction and activate this switch.
Then you will notice that the orientation of your screen will change, making options that are usually found on the right side, become on the left side to make it more comfortable for you.
By activating this option, you will open the doors to much more comfortable and simple use of your Android mobile. You no longer have to force yourself to use your right hand, but you can use your left hand much more freely. You don’t have to worry about options being skipped when using left-handed mode, it simply changes the screen orientation but the options are the same. Of course, we tell you that the first time you use it, it may feel strange to see everything reversed.
Similarly, if you want to deactivate this «left-handed mode», what you must do is repeat the route that we presented previously, entering Settings> System> Options for developers and there deactivate the option.
Indeed, this was an easy and fast process with which you can end the restriction of using your left hand at least when you use your Android mobile. Now you will feel more comfortable and happy to be who you are freely. You can also configure your mouse to be used by lefties. Thus, you will also feel comfortable using your PC.
