How secure are your passwords? Do you remember that the first ones you created were based on characters from your favorite cartoon, your birthday or the name of your first love? Were keys so predictable…
However, over time, apps have forced us to create more complex passwords, that is, more difficult to crack. Now it is necessary to respect at least an extension of 8 charactersbetween uppercase, lowercase, numbers and signs.
When making these types of combinations, it is more complicated that our accounts are hacked. However, there are those who use mixtures as simple as ‘Hello1234’ or ‘Password1’ that facilitate data theft on the Internet.

Such was the case of the hotel chain Holiday Inns. Your clients and those of other hotels belonging to the group IHG reported problems booking and making check infor which IHG responded through its social networks, that it was “maintenance of its system”.
These problems lasted 24 hours and the next day, the company admitted to its investors that it had been the victim of a hack. In accordance with BBCNewsthe attackers accessed the IHG database thanks to their ‘clever’ password: qwerty1234.
The British firm operates 6,000 hotels around the world, including Holiday Inn, Crown Square Y Regent. While customers complained about reservation problems, a couple of hackers in Vietnam were deleting thousands of files from IHG’s servers ‘for fun’.
The attackers gained access to emails from Outlookas well as to chats from Microsoft Teams and company server directories, the BBC reported. The guest information, luckily, was left intact.
No one is exempt from hacking and information theft. Even if you don’t have a company or lead more than 6,000 hotels, updating your passwords and keys from time to time will help you keep your information safe.
