Watch out for the next note! It is important to highlight that the National Government of Colombia has implemented the social program known Families in Action, whose main objective is to improve the living conditions of the most needy families in the country. This social program is specifically designed for households that are in situations of extreme poverty, moderate poverty, and economic vulnerability. It is vital to pay attention to the information in the following lines.
Public policies that encompass programs such as Familias en Acción, Ingreso Solidario, Jóvenes en Acción, which provide economic assistance to low-income people in Colombia, are in the process of transitioning towards a new program called “Citizen Income”. This benefit is detailed in a DEPOR article, where you can find all the details.
Despite the fact that President Gustavo Petro announced the end of the Familias en Acción social program at the end of 2022, the implementation of the Shock Plan Against Hunger began in its place.
