But it wasn’t just gym prices that went up. Inflation is also hitting the practice of amateur soccer. According to Inegi, renting a field for a soccer match in Mexico City, with arbitration included, cost around 800 pesos in March 2020. The price skyrocketed to 907 in the same month of 2022.
The cost is per hour, so, assuming that there are two teams of 11 players each, the individual fee to put together the ‘coperacha’ went from 36 pesos to more than 41 pesos.

According to the Mexican Institute for Competitiveness “the price of fruits and vegetables has risen 17.26% in one year, livestock (pork, beef, chicken, milk, eggs) have increased 13.68%, processed foods , more than 10%”.
For dinner:

Inflation in Mexico in February marked 7.28% at the annual rate, but agricultural products had an increase of 16.17%, fruits and vegetables of 19.6%; livestock products of 13.57%, according to data from Inegi.
A craving:
‘El Canelo’ is allowed to eat bread or rice once a month.
