Elden Ring is the most recent installment of FromSoftware and the entire community of players of the Souls saga has marveled at this adventure through the Middle Lands, which even presents us with dungeons with various secondary bosses who will try to make things difficult for you. One of these could be the Funeral Guard Dog.
Something that seems quite striking to us is that the Golden Tree Funeral Guard Dog is a secondary boss that appears up to four times in different areas of the Elden Ring. One of them can be found in the Stormscarp Catacombs in Necrolimbo West and another in the Catacombs at the foot of the cliff in Liurnia East. Lastly, in the Catacombs of the Caelid Golden Tree you encounter two at once.

Previously we have already delved into the locations of this boss, so you will know where to locate them as long as you have unlocked the three catacombs in which the Funerary Guardian Dogs of the Golden Tree appear.
You may face the one from the Necrolimbo first in the starting zone, though the strategy should be the same for all of them with one exception: the Caelid showdown where you’ll be facing two at the same time, something we’ll get into later.
In the solo matchup, what you should know is that the Golden Tree Funeral Guard Dog is an insane boss, as all of his attacks have brutal follow-up to the character, making them really hard to dodge. Our recommendation is that you summon the wolves so that they can attack him from several fronts and distract him so that you can attack from a different flank with the most powerful attacks you have.
The good news is that he’s a slow-reacting boss after executing an attack, so you’ll have a few key seconds to land multiple hits on him. That, added to the damage from the wolves, should be enough to take him down without a hitch.
The difficult part comes in the Catacombs of the Golden Tree of Caelid, where you will have to face two at the same time, as we mentioned before. The strategy in this case is very clear: first go for the Funeral Guardian Dog of the magical Golden Tree, which is much more dangerous than the other one you have already faced before.
At this point you will have a better summon than the wolves, so use it and go full magic, always avoiding the two to meet on the ground or it will be your downfall. By keeping your distance and attacking wisely, you shouldn’t have any major problems.
