Hogwarts Legacy releases new trailer, there will be exclusives for PS5

The upcoming open-world Harry Potter game Hogwarts Legacy isn’t a PlayStation exclusive, but it’s still heavily tied to the brand, having first been unveiled at a PS5 event in September 2020. Although Hogwarts Legacy is a cross-platform game, it will still have some PS5-exclusive features.

Hogwarts Legacy recently released a “next-gen dive” trailer explaining what the next-gen versions of the game will include, and more specifically, what it will be like to play in PS5.

The trailer begins by emphasizing the game’s 4K visuals, something that will be available to players on both PS5 like on Xbox Series X, before we talk more about what fans can expect exclusively from the experience on PS5.

As you might imagine, the unique features of PS5 in Hogwarts Legacy they largely revolve around the DualSense control and its unique capabilities. Everyone’s Hogwarts Legacy house is represented by the color of the DualSense’s light bar, while haptic feedback is used to make moments like flying on a hippogriff or descending through Gringotts tunnels more immersive.

Haptic feedback will also be apparent when spells are cast on Hogwarts Legacy, and that’s where the DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers will also come into play. In addition to taking advantage of the DualSense controller features, the PS5 version of Hogwarts Legacy will also have 3D audio support.

The combination of all these features should help players get more immersed in exploring Hogwarts in Hogwarts Legacy or fighting other witches and wizards in duels. The other versions of the game should still offer a nearly identical experience in terms of actual content, but some of these capabilities will be lost.
