The augmented reality business has grown to the point where figures with a value of 61.4 billion dollars are expected by 2023. This encompasses several sectors, such as medicine, leisure, retail, online marketing, education, services, fashion, entertainment, among others, those who have entered this strategy.
According to the latest forecasts made for the augmented reality sector, by 2023 there will be around 1,700 million mobile augmented reality users worldwide.
The most used applications in Mexico
At the beginning of the year, in January 2022, according to Statista data, WhatsApp turned out to be the most used social network in Mexico, since 94 percent of social network users had access to this application, Facebook was the second platform most used by Mexicans, with 93 percent of users. Third place is occupied by Facebook Messenger, with 80 percent usage.
Later, Instagram follows with 79 percent, TikTok with 73 percent and Twitter with 56 percent.
Snapchat no longer appears as before in Mexico, because Instagram is more used and has filters, however Snapchat on occasions becomes popular again since it has innovative filters that other platforms do not have.

The clothing brand H&M decided to collaborate with Snapchat, in order to appear in one of its filters, the main idea of this is to carry out augmented reality, by offering the possibility of trying on some clothes digitally, so that the user have a perspective of how it looks with a garment, in addition, the filter has an H&M watermark, so that other users can see that the look is inspired by this clothing store, sharing the filter can be of great help to that other people are interested in certain looks and thus be aware of the brand.
This idea was worked on by H&M and the Digital Fashion Institute, the atelier and digital study center.
People could use this augmented reality anywhere and anytime without the need to change, this H&M feature is available for both Android and iOS, so anyone could have access.
