Is today! The city of Hermosillo, Sonora, has set the goal of obtaining the Guinness Record with The World’s Largest Roast Beef 2023. It will be an event that will seek to have the largest number of people making roast meat simultaneously. The event will take place on Boulevard Hidalgo.
The event is promoted and supported by local and state authorities of Sonora, among them the municipal president Antonio Astiazarán Gutiérrez; Célida López Cárdenas, Secretary of Tourism of the State of Sonora; Gertie Agraz Boeneker and Fernanda Cisneros Rodríguez, General Director and Director of Tourism Development of the Municipal Agency for Economic Development (AMDE).
Likewise, there is also the collaboration of the private initiative, such as the businessmen Miguel Ángel Figueroa Gallegos and Iván Contreras.
With respect to the profits generated during the event, these will be destined to the patronage of the FSonoran Foundation for the Support of High Performance Athletes (FUSADAR)with the aim of helping their task of supporting the athletes of Sonora through scholarships.
The World’s Largest Roast Meat 2023 is a real challenge
Figueroa Gallegos, in his capacity as president of FUSADAR, informed that they will be 1,200 grills those that will help Hermosillo to obtain the title of the largest roast beef in the world. Each barbecue kit costs 3,500 pesos and includes a barbecue, a commemorative plaque, 4 kilograms of meat, charcoal, aprons, and caps alluding to the event.
Guinness Record judges are expected to factor in logistics and count the number of people simultaneously grilling meat. So far the pointer is held by Canada, which broke the record with 950 grillers. It should be noted that three weeks ago in Brazil an attempt was made to break the Record, but the project failed.
“To break the record, we have all the grillers roast meat for five minutes without stopping, and without leaving the grill, after that, between 1:05 p.m. and 1:15 p.m., the judge removes all their supervisors and checks if We abide by the rules”Figueroa Gallegos commented.
The World’s Largest Roast Beef 2023 will be attended by the Governor of Sonora, Alfonso Durazo, and Miguel Torruco, Secretary of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, who have called to support this event that honors the culinary culture of Sonora and gives visibility to the wonders tourist and cultural of the entity.
With The World’s Largest Roast Beef 2023, an economic spill of approximately 4 and a half million pesos is expected.
