Henry Cavill’s journey as Superman hasn’t been the smoothest and most uncomplicated. For years we have witnessed the multiple number of problems faced by the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) paid for by Warner Bros. and designed by Zack Snyder.
Amidst all the relative calamities and flops at the box office, however, one thing that is virtually unassailable is that Snyder and company made excellent casting decisions in casting the actors to embody the DC Comics heroes.
With the private life of these stars and with the choice of the villains, the story in most cases was not so lucky, it is enough to remember the interpretation of Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor; or see all the drama of what Warner has experienced and the tape of The Flash for the behavior of Ezra Miller.
However, among all of them there was an unfortunate case that deserved a better fate: Henry Cavill, a Superman who, at least in physical appearance, looked like the best possible casting decision. But whose participation was not always exactly lucky.
A Superman without sequels
The first Superman film looked at the time like a technical demo of the CGI effects of the end of its period and a virtual demolition derby that was not to the precise liking of the fans.
Over time, the film has been reaffirmed as a cluster of all Snyder’s compulsions and excesses, a situation that was reaffirmed with the premiere of Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice. And that ended worse with the mess that was the premiere of Justice League.
Since then, Cavill’s role as Superman ended up in an uncomfortable kind of limbo. Where the character continued to appear circumstantially in films like Shazam or the series of The Peacemaker. But without fully showing the actor in the suit.
The rumor for a long time was that Henry had been kicked out just like Ben Affleck from the DC Cinematic Universe at Warner. The Batman film seemed to be the first step in that direction.
But now multiple reports have emerged pointing to Cavill’s return as the Man of Steel. It is said that the actor would have joined at the last minute to join the cast of Flash, as a way to give coherence to the fragmented plot due to calendar changes and the cancellation of Batgirl.
In turn, a week ago the rumor began to circulate that the sequel to Man of Steel would be in development, also with Cavill as the protagonist.
Y Dwayne Johnson He ended up confirming that his Black Adam tape and his intercession were the conduit to return to the actor taking advantage of the change of directors at Warner.
So Cavill’s return is almost a fact.
