Kite Man, another of Batman’s iconic villains will debut in his own series as a spin-off of the Harley Quinn animation.
If the animated series Harley Quinn with Kaley Cuoco is your favorite, soon your fun will be twice as, according to Deadline, HBO Max has ordered a spin-off series played by another Gotham villain: Kite Man.
According to the site, Harley Quinn series co-creator Patrick Schumacker announced that a spin-off series is currently in the works. The series was announced at SXSW during the Not Kidding Around: Warner Bros. Animation and the Reimagining of Iconic Characters for an Adult Audience event.
The title of the new animation is Noonan’s and it would focus on Kite Man after he bought the bar of the same name: Noonan’s. “This is an iconic location for the Gotham City underworld and the location itself first appeared in The Demon Annual in 1993. The bar is named after hitman Sean Noonan.”
Deadline quotes Schumacker, who said: “He tries to run the bar by himself, but it’s not that easy. We have Harley and Ivy appearing in the first episode, but after that we see different thugs and villains appearing each episode like Lex Luthor and Bane. It will be a kind of Cheers for the supervillains ”.
The site ends: “Schumacher also made it clear that Noonan’s is in development and things could change, or the series might not even be produced. However, with the success of Harley Quinn, it’s a safe bet that we will see this series in some form.”
