Cyber attacks continue and this time it was time for Acer, the technology brand specialized in the sale of computers and computer products. It happens that a group of hackers managed to steal more than 60GB of personal information from their customers, and not only that, but they are also willing to sell it to the highest bidder.
According to the newspaper Hindustan Times, the group of hackers responsible for this act calls themselves Disorder, and it was they who infiltrated the servers of Acer located in India. Among the stolen information we have personal and corporate data and also confidential data related to accounts, finances and more.
Additionally, a spokesperson for Acer He stated that they have already contacted all customers affected by this security breach, as well as local authorities in India to find those responsible. Curiously, this would not be the first time that the company suffered from a cyberattack in the last year, since just a few months ago, Acer It became infected with ransomware and those responsible demanded $ 50 million to unlock the computers.
Something similar happened with Razer last year and here you can read more details about it.
Editor’s note: Maybe it’s just me, but I feel like we’ve had more news related to a hack or security breach lately than before. Cybersecurity has apparently already reached extremely high levels, but it seems that hackers continue to find ways to bypass it.
