Social networks have become a space to make all kinds of claims, reports, comments and even demands for brands. Jack Sweeney is a 19-year-old programmer who used the social network to publish Elon Musk’s trips in real time; however, the invasion of Ukraine made the young hacker turn his interest to the flights of Russian tycoons.
The case of Elon Musk and the counteroffer of the hacker
Through the Twitter account @ElonJet, the 19-year-old programmer began monitoring and posting the Tesla CEO’s private jet flights, Elon Musk.
After the tycoon found out about the posts, he asked via direct message if he could deactivate the account for “a security risk” and offered him $5,000.
However, Sweeney rejected the offer and launched a counter offer, but there was more information about the deactivation.
“Any chance of upping that to $50,000? It would be a great support in college and possibly help me get a car, maybe a Model 3, “said the programmer.
The tycoon’s response was to block the student from the social network.
The young university student has also tracked the flights of Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft; Jeff Bezos, Executive Chairman of Amazon; Donald Trump, former president of the United States; millionaire Trevor Milton and even rapper Drake.
The hacker turns to observe flights of Russian tycoons
The invasion of Ukraine by Russia seems to be a ghost of the Cold War that impressed and paralyzed the world since February 24, when the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, announced “the special military operation” and minutes after the speech some explosions were recorded in some territories until reaching Kiev.
From there, the digital war broke out, cyber attacks on computer networks and large disinformation campaigns. Therefore, Facebook, Google, Twitter and Microsoft limited and applied strategies to mitigate the consequences of the manipulation of information by governments.
Hackers were not far behind, Anonymous declared cyber war against the Russian government last Friday and under the RT website.
Likewise, teenager Jack Sweeney created an account openly called “Russian Oligarch Jets” to target Russian tycoons by tracking the movement of private planes.
so yeah @PutinJet is live now :), don’t expect this to be too accurate though there are a dozen VIP Russian plans, and ADS-B coverage isn’t great in Russia.

And it is that the fear of the Russian elite comes from the latest sanctions carried out by the United States together with the nations of the European Union. This is because Russia’s attack represented an assault on fundamental international rules and norms that have prevailed since World War II.
Among the sanctions is the limitation of golden passports for wealthy Russians who are connected to the government and who obtain citizenship in other countries, and with it, access to the financial system. So far, the Russian elite are still traveling and have started moving their luxury yachts to Montenegro and the Maldives, CNBC reported.
