The franchise Grand Theft Auto was born in 1997, the year in which the first GTA for computers and PlayStation 1 was released, so it makes sense that players from that time are still aware of the saga, having a good time with GTA V or GTA Online.
That’s probably the story of m4taylora user of 32 year old Reddit who told an unfortunate anecdote in which he was teased by other GTA Online players, released in 2013 along with the fifth installment of the franchise.
After a long time, this gamer decided to grab his Xbox console and play a game of the online version of the Rockstar Games gem. In the video game, he wanted to join a group of bandits to carry out a robbery, but the other users received him with ridicule for his age.
The words of the affected gamer
Through the Reddit forum, M4taylor recounted the insults he received just for wanting to play GTA Online and asked the community if he was too old to play online.
“I recently started playing online and took GTA in a sale for Xbox. I have been a lifelong fan of the GTA series and usually carry on with my solo days. Anyway, youI took my microphone to participate in the robberies and started talking to people”, begins the gamer.
Then, the user detailed: “Prison bus heist is a hassle with no communication. So far I’ve only been laughed at for being 32 and told I’m too old for this game etc. Am I so out of touch that I’m really old and shouldn’t be a part of this game?”.
“I don’t care what people say and have said in some comments that I generally laugh at anything that comes my way regarding toxicity. This got into my head and I think it was a week of low self esteem combined with brats getting into my head”, lamented M4taylor.
However, the video game forum community on Reddit showed support for him and defended the fact that there is no age to have fun with video games: “Thank you very much. I had a bad week and this affected me. Thanks for helping a grown man who ignores kids on Xbox Live”.
