After several half-hearted attempts integrating similar functionalities into other apps, such as Google Kepp, Gmail or Calendar, Google decided to launch a dedicated task management application in 2018. Google Tasks was born o Google Tasks and it was integrated with two other old acquaintances (already mentioned) such as Gmail or Google Calendar.
With the clear intention of standing up to heavyweights from the world of task management such as Wunderlist or Microsoft To Do, Google Tasks landed with a very simple and well-designed interface, and with somewhat curtailed functionalities that have been increasing with the passage of time. weather. Now, Google Tasks adds something to get you closer to To Do: Featured Tasks.
Featured tasks with their own tab
As we have said, Google Tasks or Google Tasks already anticipates changes in its latest beta version for Android. If a few weeks ago we saw the new tabs arrive in the app, now Google Tasks prepares to allow some tasks to be highlighted. So that we can mark them as important and that they have their space reserving within the application, so that they are localized.
With the arrival of this new feature, Google Tasks will also incorporate a new tab, Featured, under which all the tasks that we have marked like this will be included by pressing the aforementioned star on the right side. This is a simple change but that will help to have the most important tasks at hand, and a new feature in common with Microsoft To Do, perhaps inviting its users to try the Google alternative.
Unfortunately, this new functionality is still stuck in the beta version of Google Tasks for Android and we don’t know when it will be released to the general public. We remind you that Google Tasks, like the rest of the company’s apps, is still free and we can easily find it on Google Play, the Android app store.
