Google Meet became one of the most used services during the lockdown that started in 2020. Now, the app is still at a pretty high point for work and school productivity. But those from Mountain View know that you don’t just live on homework, and now they will allow you to relax with your friends during conversations. For it, have integrated some services, including Spotify and YouTube.
As they comment in their official blogit is an update with a lot of improvements, among them a proposal similar to Apple’s SharePlaya feature that allows you to share audio or video with participants in a FaceTime video call.
Fortunately for Google, the Cupertino alternative doesn’t have Spotify or YouTube compatibility. Thus, if you want to share with the participants of a conversation the videos you are watching at a certain moment, or the songs you are listening to, you can do it with the touch of a button. Also, unlike Apple, the compatibility between devices will be much higher.
These live activity sharing features are not just limited to content consumption. From Google Meet you can also play different types of games with your friends. Among those announced, we can find the famous Heads Up!, One Mobile either Kahoot!another classic.
We’re also rolling out live sharing for Google Meet. This allows all meeting participants to interact with the content being shared. So whether you’re watching videos on YouTube, organizing a playlist on Spotify, or taking turns playing games like Heads Up!, Uno Mobile or Kahoot! During an icebreaker meeting, everyone can get in on the action.

Other changes coming to change the Google Meet experience
If you are not aware, you should know that Google Meet underwent a renovation. The service has merged with Google’s Duo app, which came at the time to stand up to services like FaceTime or WhatsApp. Now, both have become one.
This Google Meet update includes other new features. One of the most striking is that of virtual backgrounds and new functions that allow meetings to be scheduled in advance. In this way, you can start a work meeting with your study group or your co-workers at the scheduled time, and without too much effort.
All these features will be landing on Google Meet, both on mobile phones and tablets, at the end of this month of august. As for the rest of the devices, they are expected to receive it later this year. Stay tuned to take advantage of all the news.
