Good news for all those users of the game in the cloud via Google Stadia. Google is rolling out a new feature allows you to use your mobile as a remote control to play games on your TV without having to use the official Stadia controller.
Although I personally prefer the feeling of pressing physical buttons when playing on any platform, this can be a great idea. The same thing that we use the mobile as a remote control to control the TV, We can use it to play with Google Stadia.
Stadia now more accessible
Google is implementing a function that Allows Android or iOS users to use the phone as a gamepad. They just need to link the phone to the TV so they don’t have to use the control pad.
In addition, it will not only be limited to using the mobile screen with virtual controls, as if we connect a gamepad via USB or Bluetooth to the mobile, we can also use it to play Google Stadia.
In order to take advantage of this improvement, it is necessary to have a television based on Android TV, Google TV or a Chromecast Ultra. To enable the mobile as a gamepad we must do it through the Stadia TV application but also with the mobile application. These are the necessary steps:
- Launch the Stadia app on the TV.
- Select our avatar and choose the controller icon.
- Launch the Stadia app on the phone.
- Touch the controller icon
- Choose the controller we want to use.
- Click on “Play on TV”. A code will be displayed on the television that we will have to type.
Also, owners of a television with Android TV and Google TV They will be able to enable the mobile control system through the avatar section in the Stadia app available for televisions.
This movement is intended to facilitate access to Stadia for those users who do not have the official remote control and thus avoid having to make an expense to get a physical remote control.
