The title was announced yesterday for PC via Steam.
The God of War saga is one of the most important for PlayStation since the now defunct PlayStation 2 began Kratos’ adventures in the Greek lands in order to open Pandora’s box and obtain the necessary power to kill Ares, the, at that time, God of War in the saga.
Since then, Kratos has not missed any appointments with Sony consoles, not even in the portable field (and not counting PlayStation Vita), having about 2 adventures on average, except on PlayStation 4, where it only had the 2018 title that took us to the Nordic lands. And it seems that now it will also take us to PC.
A success only with your ad.
During yesterday, and in the same way that it has happened with other PlayStation 4 titles, such as Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone, God of War announced for PC next January 2022 through Steam, becoming the first game in the series to be released on a console or platform other than PlayStation.
It goes without saying that, during yesterday afternoon and from the precise moment of its announcement, was the news of the day, as many expressed their enormous happiness at the possibility of playing this title, of which it has been reported that it has already sold almost 20 million in its version of PlayStation4.
Now it seems that when released on PC it could reach 25 million without problems, given that your bookings portend a huge success for the Santa Monica Studios title, as you can see in the following tweet:

It seems that only for reservations and in the middle of the pre-Christmas season, yesterday’s announcement has converted God of War in the best-selling video game on Steam worldwide, even surpassing games that are already available on the digital platform.
It should be said that It will be necessary to see if these are maintained for the launch next January, but, removing the typical comments that reject the loss of exclusivity, everything indicates that Kratos and Atreus’ pre-Ragnarok adventure will be a bestseller.
It only remains to wait to see how these figures are reflected in the next installment, God of War Ragnarok, since weeks ago, the CEO of PlayStation, Jim Ryan, mentioned that this strategy was carried out to publicize your licenses and increase the number of followers of the same.
