Since its launch, the normal thing is for Nintendo Switch and its games at the top of the top sales of hardware and software in Japan, with few exceptions. One of them has been the launch of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, which this week ended the incredible streak of Nintendo Switch games and has crept into the list as the only exception.
In the latest weekly top seller that Famitsu has been publishing on a regular basis for quite some time, it is very surprising to see that, for the first time from the week of July 26 to August 1 (via LevelUp), a game from another platform that is not Nintendo Switch enters the ranking. At that time it was Neo: The World Ends With You, now credit goes to Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut, the reissue of the Sucker Punch game that features technical improvements in its version of PS5 and the expansion of the island of Iki.
Despite the emergence of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut in the middle of the software sales list, we see that Nintendo Switch continues to dominate the Japanese market in both game sales and consoles, where it continues in the first place with a very large advantage over the competition.
The list of software and hardware sales in Japan during the week of August 16-22 is as follows:

Jin Sakai’s adventure has managed to get into the ranking in a week without too much competition from the house Nintendo, but it has its merit as a western game for a desktop console. Without a doubt, a good example of the good work of Sucker Punch when it comes to recreate feudal Japan and tell a story of overcoming like the resistance of the island of Tsushima.
