Although Borderlands 3 is the last main installment in the series, Gearbox released the spin-off Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands on April 25 of this year, so it may be several years before Borderlands 4 is released. Although a sequel has yet to be announced, Randy Pitchford said that UE5 was an engine made for a new generation of Borderlands, which hints that they would already be working on one.

At the end of April, a new Tales from the Borderlands was announced, a sequel to the 2014 graphic adventure developed by Telltale Games. Gearbox has since said there are still stories to be told in the Borderlands universe, so it’s clear they have plans for the series later on.
