Specifically, House of the Dragon will tell the story of Viserys, who must face a challenge to occupy the throne of his grandfather, Jaehaerys Targaryen, after the election by the lords of Westeros.
But, what is wrong What made fans noise in Game of Thrones and what will be fixed by the great George RR Martin?
The Game of Thrones glitch that will be corrected in House of the Dragon
As CNET explains, in Game of Thrones episode 9, when the Master at Castle Black, one of Lord Commander Jeor Mormont’s advisors in the Night’s Watch, reveals his identity as Aemon Targaryen.
“My father was Maekar, the first of his name,” he told Jon Snow. “My brother Aegon reigned after him when I refused the throne, and his son Aerys followed, who was called the Mad King.”
CNET notes that Aemon does not mention Jaehaerys II Targaryen, the son of Aergon V and the father of Aerys II, which appears in the A Song of Ice and Fire series of novels by George RR Martin.
House of the Dragon showrunners Miguel Sapochnik and Ryan Condal said at a press event that Martin had taken notice when Game of Thrones producers David Benioff and DB Weiss they left Jaehaerys II out of the lineage of kings.
Insider quotes Sapochnik: “David and Dan skipped Jaehaerys for clarity reasons that he didn’t really understand. He had a ‘bee in the hood’ about it. He wanted us to correct that mistake.”
And, holy word, it will be corrected in House of the Dragon.
