The war for the most advanced electric car has only just begun. The Chinese from GAC Motor have presented their latest novelty, one of the most futuristic concept cars of recent times, accompanied by a new and innovative interior concept. A conceptual proposal that will not fully reach serial production.
Design has always ruled, it is one of the highest qualities that shine in all models on the market, largely advanced with suggestive concept cars from which very specific details and features are taken, although on other occasions, and depending on the acceptance of the public, go entirely to production, bridging the usual gaps in security regulations. East it will not be the case of the advanced advance that the Asians of GAC Motor have unveiled.
The Chinese do know that the distinction is more than important, especially in the field of electric cars and, much more so if they intend to gain a foothold among the offer of zero emissions in the European market. The GAC Time Concept bears a certain similarity to the Mercedes Vision EQXX, the German proposal for its electric futures. Compared, both share that streamlined sideways shape with an arched roofline that, in the GAC’s case, almost becomes much more stretched out, achieving a drag coefficient more than low: barely, 0.191xwith marked shoulders through which the air flow runs.
The GAC Time Concept is a design explorer
Very striking details that this concept proposes, such as the total absence of pillars. As you can see, the structure forms a single piece that extends supporting a huge glass roof that starts from the windshield to the back. The door handles are retractable and the rearview mirrors replaced by high resolution cameras. In addition, the headlights are limited to a thin band of LEDs, pure discretion that is not present at the rear, where the optical groups present different applications with a three-dimensional appearance.
The attention to detail is such that even the wheels have an integral cover which cannot be called an alloy wheel. The panel that occupies its space also has special lighting flashing unique light effects. As much as the interior space that is accessed through a pair of doors located on the left sideand reverse opening, offering great habitability but only for three passengers.
The GAC concept has a single seat for the driver, whose digital instruments appear to float, while the right side structure has an “L” shaped seat for two passengers. Those of GAC are betting on an unparalleled level of peace of mind on board, which is why they have used LED light to create a warmer environment: Ambient lighting is combined with rose gold accents and the wood of the interior flooring, along with the dimming of the panoramic roof, which can even reproduce the starry roof of the Rolls-Royce. What GAC has kept in secret are the technical specifications of this electric conceptalthough the firm has also recognized that it is not an essential detail to know since it will not reach production.
