The cryptocurrency exchange FTX has secured advertising space in one of the most watched events in the United States: the National Football League championship game, to be held in February 2022.
According to a Bloomberg report, FTX bought an ad at this year’s LVI Super Bowl, motivated by the wide audience reach.
The Super Bowl is invariably the highest-rated television show of the year and represents 28 of the 30 highest-rated broadcasts in US television history.
Sam Bankman-Fried, founder and CEO of FTX, has made football a top priority in a marketing strategy that focuses on sports as the fastest growing customer base for cryptocurrency adoption. Said:
“There is no bigger, more impactful event to share such a message than the Super Bowl.”
Although the content of the ad and how much FTX has paid has not been revealed, NBC’s price for a Super Bowl ad next year is $ 6.5 million. The price of a 30-second ad in the 2021 event was $ 5.5 million.
The previous event had an average television audience of about 92 million viewers.
This year’s Super Bowl saw a change in advertisers, as brands such as Hyundai, Pepsi, Coca-Cola and Budweiser opted out, making room for new players who thrived during the pandemic and became advertisers for the first time in Super Bowl LV.
Some of them include fast food and delivery services (Chipotle, DoorDash), e-commerce (Vroom), job seeker services (Indeed, Fiverr), and even home improvement brands (Scotts Miracle-Gro, Hellmann’s) . Given that cryptocurrencies have sparked a lot of interest when people started working from home during the pandemic, it stands to reason that a cryptocurrency exchange will join the line for the next event.
In June, FTX secured a long-term partnership with seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady. and his wife, Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen, who It included one at the company and payment in crypto for its services, including the TV ad below.

During the Miami Heat’s season opener last week, the international cryptocurrency exchange gifted all viewers of a section of the FTX Arena $ 500 worth of cryptocurrencies.
Coinbase has also followed in FTX’s footsteps in sports-related sponsorships. with a multi-year partnership agreement with the NBA and the WNBA as the exclusive partner of the cryptocurrency platform.
