Great news for the entire Dark Souls player community is that their popular video game will once again have access to their servers. Putting you a little in context, shortly before the release of ELDEN RING, players discovered a dangerous vulnerability in the Dark Souls servers on PC that put users in danger.
Something that seems quite striking to us is that this led to Bandai Namco and FromSoftware to shut down the servers to maintain the safety of their players. It’s been 4 months and nothing has changed, but FromSoftware has finally confirmed that they are working on bringing them back.
What happens is that FromSoftware sent a statement to PC Gamer in which they confirmed that they are working on ending the vulnerability of the Dark Souls servers on PC. They first plan to return the Dark Souls 3 servers once they complete the necessary work. After that, the services will return to the rest of the games.
“We are currently in the process of restoring the online servers for the Dark Souls series on PC. We plan to restore online service for each game on a progressive basis, bringing back the Dark Souls 3 servers once we complete the necessary work to fix the issue,” FromSoftware said.
Now, among all this there is a bad news: FromSoftware did not reveal when it plans to have the solution for these problems ready. So it looks like it could still be a while before that happens. “We will provide additional updates as soon as the restore schedule is finalized. We want to thank all of our players for their patience and understanding as we work to fix this issue,” he explained.
