Throughout this week, there has been a buzz surrounding the possibility that the wait to see Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox Game Pass won’t be too long. Something that is very surprising, even incredible, because it is one of the most anticipated games this year. But there is Microsoft, which is trying to give additional value and a game like Cyberpunk 2077 would be a major claim. But from CD Projekt they assure that there are no plans for Cyberpunk 2077 to arrive at Xbox Game Pass.
It has been the PR Manager, Radek Grabowski, who on Twitter has responded to one of those messages trying to spread that rumor that guaranteed that the game would arrive, not long after its launch, to Xbox Game Pass.
I don't know. Let's just use Cyberpunk as an example. MS pays to get it on GP day one, but it's still available on Stadia, PC, and PlayStation for $60. And Microsoft doesn't have to pay to replace the missed revenue from PS — only Xbox. And maybe only for three months.

The rather forceful answer makes it clear there are no plans for Cyberpunk 2077 to hit Xbox Game Pass, at least right now. Speaking of the temporary exclusives that could reach the Sony console, a new theory would try to give value to the Microsoft subscription service with Triple-A games coming to the service. In this way, being an Xbox Game Pass subscriber could guarantee to be able to play important releases as a measure of attracting users just as they want to do with temporary exclusives. That, not to mention that Xbox Game Pass is already powered by Xbox Game Studios games since launch.
But aiming for Cyberpunk 2077 is very ambitious. Right now for the Polish studio, what really matters is to finish development and meet the latest release date. There are already several delays and Cyberpunk 2077 has to see the light this year, yes or yes. After the City Night Wire that exposed the gameplay, there is still a greater expectation about this game, and we still want to see more and know more specific details about what it will offer.
And being a game so extensive, so varied and so complex, we have read a lot, but we have seen very little. And everything indicates that CD Projekt RED has more ambitious and concrete plans than thinking about when the game will come out in Microsoft’s subscription service. From CD Projekt they assure that there are no plans for Cyberpunk 2077 to arrive at Xbox Game Pass, because right now they are focused on finalizing this broad and complex title so that it can see the light on November 19, both on Xbox One, Playstation 4, Google Stadia and PC.
