Currently, the Housing Fund of the Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers grants credits based on the Measurement and Update Unit (UMA). Once the changes to the law are approved, the beneficiaries will be able to choose a mortgage in pesos.
The credit placement goal for FOVISSSTE for 2023 will be between 59,000 and 70,200 credits for an economic benefit of 55,511 million pesos (mdp).
In 2022, FOVISSSTE granted 48,728, for an economic benefit of 42,597 million pesos.
In addition, the vocal Buenrostro highlighted, the amount of the credit and the monthly payments will be determined taking into account the worker’s base salary and the compensations to which he is entitled. “That will give a greater credit capacity, and the amortization will also be in a smoother and kinder way,” he stressed.
Another of the changes has to do with granting credits without raffles or scores, there will be continuous registration.
There will also be structural options for workers who stop contributing to ISSSTE, as well as for workers whose payroll discount is not enough to cover their debt.
This year the fund will absorb 11% of the increase in the UMA, for which it will allocate an amount of 4,000 million pesos, highlighted Buenrostro Moreno.
FOVISSSTE discounts
FOVISSSTE, by instructions of the president, has also worked on discounts for its borrowers.
Among the removals is the granting of 10% discounts to those who have already covered 90% of their mortgage. Likewise, it will apply 5% discounts to workers who have between five and new years paying, and 10% to all loans with more than 10 years old.
A debt settlement will be applied for borrowers who are over 60 years of age and who have paid more than twice the amount of credit that was granted to them, as well as for credits of more than 30 years.
In the case of credits that have deteriorated due to economic crises, with a 43% discount on the outstanding balance.
Lastly, the executive spokesman explained, the fund began a tailor-made solution program with workers from the extinct Federal Police to carry out a restructuring, taking into account their actual ability to pay.
