EFE.- The former president of Mexico Vicente Fox (2000-2006) and his wife, Martha Sahagún, were reportedly hospitalized on Friday to be treated for their contagion of coronavirus, although they are stable, according to local media reported this Saturday.
According to the Millennium Television channel, Fox and Sahagún decided to enter a hospital in Mexico City, after being diagnosed with covid-19 and as a preventive measure, since neither of them would present serious symptoms of the disease.
He also pointed out that the ex-president’s wife allegedly wrote the following on his WhatsApp account: “We are well and stable and controlled. Very well attended … we are well thank God“.

In addition, he recalled that both are already vaccinated against Covid-19.
Fox would be the second former president of Mexico to test positive for coronavirus, since the first was Felipe Calderón, who was also hospitalized but recovered favorably.
Fox has been characterized by criticizing the handling of the pandemic by the administration headed by Andrés Manuel López Obrador and has said that if the health emergency had occurred during his term in office (2000-2006) many deaths could have been avoided.
