What is the Florida Immigrant Law?
Law SB1718 or also known as the Florida Law for Immigrants is one of the most drastic laws that have been enacted against foreigners living in said city. This law was promulgated by its governor, Ron DeSantis, on May 10.

Measures against immigrant workers
Law SB1718 is considered one of the strongest and most drastic against illegal immigrants since companies with more than 25 employees will be required to use the federal E-Verify system that verifies the immigration status of workers. In case of any fault, employers will have harsh sanctions in case of breaching this measure.
In case a person knowingly and deliberately transports an undocumented immigrant minor or more than five adults, this will be considered a felony that would merit fines of $10,000 dollars and more than 15 years in prison.
Since when does Law SB1718 come into effect?
It should be noted that Law SB1718 or the Florida Law for Immigrants, comes into force on July 1 and contemplates a series of harsh measures against immigrants who do not have documents to reside in the state. Additionally, driver’s licenses, even if issued in other states, will be invalidated, making it impossible for them to drive a car in all of Florida.
Regarding the medical issue, this law obliges hospitals that accept Medicaid to include a question about immigration status in the admission forms and to make quarterly reports to the Agency for Health Care Administration and one more annually to the governor and the legislature.
