You feel it so fragile that you are afraid of hurting it… Don’t worry, we tell you how to hold your treasure.
It seems so fragile … sometimes we are even afraid to take it in our arms as if we thought it was going to break. Nothing could be further from the truth. Your newborn is vulnerable and needs you for everything; However, nature is wise: the “human cubs” are “manufactured” so that all moms and dads can carry, take, kiss, cuddle, cuddle … without risk. It is true, during the first month they still do not hold the head, and that produces certain insecurity. But really, all you have to do is hold it firmly with one hand. If it goes backward or sideways, the baby will be scared because it will feel like he is going to fall, and he will cry.
Do not incorporate it by pulling your hands or arms upwards (it is still very small). Better place your hand under the nape of your neck and hold the body with the other. Then make a kind of cradle with your arm, make sure that its headrests at the elbow, and with the hand, it supports its buttocks.
MOVE IT. With one arm keep it glued to you holding all its body and head. With the other, make a seat for him to lean on.
INCORPORATE IT. First, hold your head so that it doesn’t fall back. Then place your hand roughly halfway down the body and lift it gently and safely.
TURN IT AROUND. Put one hand under her armpit and the other on her back. Now, turn your body, while holding your head, until the baby is on his tummy. Before placing him on his tummy, place your arms forward to support him and hold his head. The final position, in which you take it with one arm underneath, is also ideal for moving it from one place to another.
IN THE BATHROOM. At first, it can be scary to slip. It is best to hold the upper part of your body with your left hand, taking the arm under the armpit and letting it rest its head on your arm as well. So you have your right hand free to wash and caress it.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR BABY THIS MONTH:
? It retains the reflexes with which it was born: suction, search for cardinal points, palmar grasp, Moro reflex and gait.
? Lift your chin slightly, both on your back and on your stomach.
? Close your hands tight
? You can fix your gaze on an object that moves slowly within your field of view (in an arc of no more than ninety degrees). His field of vision reaches the approximate distance between him and his mother’s eyes when she breastfeeds him.
? Responds to certain sounds. Mom’s voice calms her
? Smile (especially in the dream)? He prefers to fix his eyes on his face, particularly that of his mother
? He spends most of the day sleeping. You only wake up from hunger or discomfort.
