Our spy photographers have managed to capture one of the first sighted development prototypes of the new generation Ford Everest in its left-hand drive configuration. The SUV that the firm manufactures and markets in Australia and some Asian markets.
Ford Everest is a mid-size SUV that the American company manufactures and markets in various markets in the Asia-Pacific region, like Indonesia or Australia, so it is not available in the West. Despite this, these first images of a copy of the new generation have been taken in the United States.
This new series of spy photos correspond to a sighting in the vicinity of Ford’s Research and Development facility in Dearborn, despite the fact that the truth is that the Ford Everest is actually a product of the Australian division of Ford. Although this does not prevent part of its development, as is the case with some adjustments or road tests, take place in North America.
The origin of the development of the Ford Everest is not only because it is destined for that region of the globe, since it is actually a derivative of the Ford Ranger and this is also a product of Ford’s Australian division. So basically the Everest is nothing more than the SUV body variant of the Ford Ranger, with which it shares a complete technical approach.
New generation
These first images of the model not only confirm that there will be a new generation of the SUV, the third already, but that this is again a derivative of the Ranger. At the moment, the prototypes of the model are heavily camouflaged and we cannot see their definitive features, although it is clear that it is an LHD variant intended for Asian markets and not to Australia, where you drive on the right.
The only feature that we can intuit are the main optics and these are tremendously similar to those carried by the latest camouflaged prototypes that we have been able to analyze of the future generation of Ford Ranger, whose aesthetics will be shared with the Ford Maverick and the future Ford Everest. Given the state of development of this unit, we can assume that the project is already well advanced and that its presentation is very close.
