It’s been a busy week in DC’s film division. However, despite all the uncertainty that comes with its intended interconnected universe, there are projects that will continue regardless of the decisions that James Gunn and Peter Safran make. and one of them is Joker 2: Folie à Deuxwhich confirms the start of its filming with the first image of Joaquin Phoenix from the set.
was the director todd phillips who shared the photo through his Instagram account with the message: “Day 1. Our boy”. The image shows Arthur Fleck being shaved, presumably, by an orderly from Arkham Asylum.

Previous reports indicate that much of the plot will take place within arkham. In other words, Folie à Deux will take us into an iconic location from the mythology of Batman which serves as a prison and psychiatric hospital for the most unbalanced individuals in Gotham City. Likewise, sources in the studio confirm that the sequel will feature elaborate musical sequences.
Todd Phillips himself co-wrote the script once again with Scott Silver. joker 2 will co-star Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga (A star Is Born), who will play a new iteration of Harley Quinn, the psychiatrist and eventual lover of the crime clown. Other cast members will be Brendan Gleeson (Alastor Moody in Harry Potter), Catherine Keener (Flees!), Harry Lawtey (Industry) and Jacob Lofland (Maze Runner: Trial by Fire).
Filming will take place in the cities of New York and Los Angeles. The film will have a budget of approximately $150 million, almost triple that of the first installment.
