If you were thinking of buying the Red Magic 5G today we have new news about this company and its next news. The brand is preparing a new terminal to launch it internationally in the second part of 2020. It is the Red Magic 5S, an improved version of the current Red Magic 5G. Will it be worth the change? Should you wait if you were thinking of buying the current mobile? The first details of the future terminal begin to arrive and we can begin to draw conclusions.
The Red Magic 5S will arrive with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 865
The Red Magic 5G was introduced with one of the biggest processors of the year, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865. The version that will arrive in the second half of the year will raise the level slightly: it will include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus.
A couple of days ago we told you about this new processor, which represents a slight improvement in gross performance and also in graphics performance. It has a few new features and the most important is an overall performance increase of 10%.
We also tell you that users will hardly notice this difference in performance between one processor and another, so buying this Red Magic 5S for the change of processor may not be the smart thing to do.
Improvement in the internal memory of the device
The type of storage of a device may not be very relevant when buying it, but the reality is that it makes a very big difference to have one type or another. Technologies advance and having an internal memory chip UFS 2.1 or more is something that directly influences the speed of your device, in the opening of applications and data processing.
This Red Magic 5S makes the leap to UFS 3.1 memory chips, the most advanced on the market. There is no internal mobile memory as fast as this. You can’t say that the difference between UFS 3.0 chips (the ones mounted by the Red Magic 5G) and UFS 3.1 is abysmal, but everything counts.
Perhaps the increase in processor performance and this change in internal memory will leave us with a faster device, not only in benchmarks but also in the daily life of users.
Red Magic 5S design won’t see too many changes
If you are thinking of switching to this new device or waiting for design changes, we have bad news. The rest of ‘versions S’ of previous generations have not meant a major change in the design of the terminals. Nubia uses the same chassis, colors and shapes, changing only a few small points in the design. If you like Red Magic 5G you will also like Red Magic 5S, but the difference is probably minimal.
At the moment we can only wait for Nubia to leave us with more information about this Red Magic 5S. Everything indicates that it could be presented in late August or early September since it is the company itself that is already leaking information from the terminal.
What do you think about this Red Magic 5S? Do you think it will be much more expensive than the Red Magic 5G?
