We still do not know exactly when the OnePlus 8 will be presented, but little by little we are getting to know new features of them in small leaks. For example, almost a month ago we warned you that these terminals would finally arrive with wireless charging, something that still placed it below its competition in some ways. Today, and through the same source, we can say that these phones will also arrive with certification against water and dust, another feature much requested by the community.
Since there is still nothing officially confirmed, we cannot assume that it is so, but the source that has communicated this had already offered us other details about the OnePlus 8, such as the 120 Hz of its screen or the existence of the brand’s first TWS headphones. Therefore, we assume that once again, you will be right and the truth is that this year it makes perfect sense that the OnePlus 8 be water-resistant.
OnePlus 8: goodbye pop-up camera, hello water resistance
When we first saw the filtered designs of the OnePlus 8 thanks to OnLeaks a few months ago (even before the presentation of the OnePlus 7T), we began to think that the resignation of the pop-up camera in the Pro model in favor of a hole in the screen could mean IP certification against water and dust (probably IP68). Well, it seems that we were right thanks to the new filtration of these new OnePlus phones.

The image we see in this tweet is merely representative and created by the filter itself, but in it, we can see the silhouette of a phone, which corresponds to the design we have already seen of the OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8 Pro, and in the background, the word water (water in English). The truth is that it is not precisely complicated to relate this image to what he wants to convey to us: the OnePlus 8 will have water and dust resistance, probably with the IP68 certification, something that many users have been waiting for a long time.
However, taking into account the physical similarities between the OnePlus 8 and its Pro model, it could be that both the IP68 certification and the wireless charging were exclusive features of the Pro version, but this we will find out over time. On the presentation, without knowing exact dates, Ishan Agarwal pointed out a few days ago that he would be ahead in dates at the end of March or beginning of April, so we will not take too long to know new details.
