In the conversation, the CEO of Tesla confronts the founder of Microsoft, revealing that there was not a good relationship between the two.
Elon Musk and Bill Gates are two of the richest men in the world.
In social networks, An alleged chat between Elon Musk and Bill Gates has been leaked, where the CEO of Tesla confronts the founder of Microsoft.
If anything has been known about Elon Musk, among many other things, it is that he did not have a good relationship with Bill Gates, two of the richest men on the planet, because both have shown different points of view on issues such as cryptocurrencies, Covid-19, among others.
Currently, according to data from Statista, Elon Musk’s net worth is more than 200 billion dollars, placing himself at the top of the most powerful on the planet; For his part, Bill Gates occupies the third position with a heritage of just over 132 billion dollars.
Each one in his rank and in his generation, has indisputably set the standard to follow in the business world, but there is not, between them, a relationship of friendship or any other characteristic, especially since Bill Gates has always been critical with Tesla, the company of the South African tycoon.
Chat between Elon Musk and Bill Gates leaks online
While it is true that this is no secret, now that an alleged chat between Musk and Gates has been leaked, it is more obvious that there was definitely no great communication between the two.
On Twitter, the post by @WholeMarsBlog has gone viralwhere Musk is read asking Bill Gates “do you still have a short position of half a billion [o 500 millones] of dollars against Tesla?“to which the founder of Microsoft replied “I’m sorry to say I haven’t closed it. I would like to discuss the possibilities of philanthropy”.
Of course, the conversation did not stop there and, in response to Bill Gates, the South African was more forceful: “Sorry I can’t take your climate change philanthropy seriously when you have a massive short against Tesla, the company doing the most to solve climate change.”.
So apparently Bill Gates hit up @elonmusk to discuss “philanthropy on climate change” but Elon asked if he still had a half billion dollar short position on $TSLA.
Bill said he hasn’t closed it out, so Elon told him to get lost. No idea if this is true lol pic.twitter.com/iuHkDG3bAd

After said conversation was leaked, Elon Musk reported on his Twitter account that he is not the culprit, although he implies that The New York Times – where the content of said talk was disclosed – obtained it through friends.
Yeah, but I didn’t leak it to NYT. They must have got it through friends of friends.
I heard from multiple people at TED that Gates still had half a billion short against Tesla, which is why I asked him, so it’s not exactly top secret.

The short position, which is what Musk demands from Gates, has to do with the fact that those who invest under that system, to call it in some way, hope that the shares, instead of going up, go down. A legal move, yes, but one that is seen as “immoral”, since what it is about is betting on the decline of a company.
This means, broadly speaking, that Bill Gates fully trusts the collapse of Tesla, a fact that does not make Tesla’s CEO happy at all; However, according to what said media reports, Elon Musk already suspected the position of the founder of Microsoft.
“I heard from several people at TED that Gates still had half a billion dollars short against Tesla, which is why I asked him, so it’s not exactly a secret,” the South African explained.
So far, Bill Gates has not said anything about it, although it is known that he has always been critical of Musk’s work.
