The new and latest installment of the EA FIFA saga arrived on September 30 worldwide with many new features. We will analyze the graphics, gameplay, licenses, game modes and all the changes compared to previous editions.
Graphics to enjoy in detail
The first aspect to take into account are the graphics and designs. Initially we will notice the menu change with a lower bar where the various game modes, accessibility and customization point appear. As for the game’s graphics, we don’t see a big differential jump with the previous installment, but that’s normal since the most noticeable changes usually come with the changes of generation in the consoles. If we can mention that each edition brings an improvement in the details, both in the soccer players and the stadiums, fields or fans. It should be noted that this time the Microsoft version is equal to those of PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
HyperMotion2: a more realistic simulation
At the point of gameplay, we find the HyperMotion2 technology which gives more fluidity and naturalness to the movements. This new version doesn’t stray too far from its predecessor, but it does manage to bring the simulation a little closer to reality. The biggest change is seen in the speed of the game, leaving behind the somewhat slow pace of FIFA 22.
The strongest point can be felt with the Pro Camera (used in Career Mode: Single Player) where movements can be seen better than with the distant cameras. Speed is still an essential attribute to choose players, since those who have this virtue more graceful will have greater advantages over their rivals. However, defensive mobility has also been improved and allows you to counter those attacks on occasion.
familiar sounds
At the sound level, the game did not change from its predecessors and maintains an accompanying musical aesthetic, but it does not look like in previous decades where a song could be recorded for days. Favorable point is the possibility of adding the playlist to Spotify through a QR code.
As for the stories, the English version continues to take advantage of the other languages. The Latin edition is Fernando Palomo and Mario Kempes who accompany you with their comments, while the Spanish edition features the mythical Manolo Lama and Paco González, where you can see the passage of time when it comes to bringing euphoria to their broadcasts, leaving the game somewhat lacking in passion, in contrast to the British commentators. As a great novelty is the possibility of deactivating negative comments in case of playing badly or having a bad streak.
console crossover
For others, it is marking the arrival of CrossPlay to interact from different consoles, having the possibility of facing PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X / S players against each other, or those of PS4 with Xbox One.
Going into the game modes we can see the same ones from previous editions, but with modifications.
Quick Game Modes
The Quick Game Modes, which range from classic matches, cup finals, full tournaments or matches with alternative rules, are maintained in the same way as in FIFA 22, along with the licenses for CONMEBOL Libertadores, Sudamericana, Recopa Sudamericana, UEFA Champions League , Europa League, Conference League and UEFA Super Cup.
In Volta and Pro Clubs there are no significant changes, beyond the aforementioned console crossover.
What’s new in Career Mode
Within the Career Mode, either as a manager or a player, if we can notice differences. First of all, the possibility of choosing a real coach to make your career. We can choose from Guardiola, Klopp or Simeone to Gallardo, Ibarra or Israel Damonte, following their career from where they are or directing them to another club. Another new point has to do with the possibility of creating your club, something that version 22 brought, but with the detail of editing the starting shirt, substitute and a third kit, in addition to the goalkeeper kit, and being able to edit the players Of the template.
Personality traits are added to Career Mode: Player where you mold your footballer not only on but also off the pitch to be altruistic (team player, leader and cerebral), virtuous (charismatic, flexible and skilled) and maverick. (dominant, opportunist and protagonist). These points can be achieved with the new external activities where you can buy items, join courses, invest and more.
Chemistry of 33 at UT
Finally, ULTIMATE TEAM, which modifies the chemistry system, leaving aside the old lines that join positions to award points at a general level. From now on the chemistry will be measured from 0 to 33, and not 100 as it was before, receiving points 3 points maximum from each player of the starting 11 plus the coach. It is no longer necessary for players from the same team, country or league to be in contiguous positions, since in this new version they can add points between your goalkeeper and the forwards. Points will be awarded for each starting player where league, team and nationality aspects will be taken into account, but one point will be awarded for each player with whom one of those points is shared. The special envelopes are expected to be arriving soon with the Champions duels, the weekly and monthly FIFA teams, and the long-awaited World Cup.
Leaves: returns and absences
To close we must mention the licenses won and lost for this season. On the downside, the exit from the Liga MX (Mexico) and the J-League (Japan), in addition to the absence of real players in the Brasileirao teams and the Brazilian national team. Added to this are the absences of several national teams, which will be arriving in future updates. In positive terms, the Juventus license returns, ceasing to be Piedmont, in addition to the first women’s soccer leagues, with the first divisions of England and France. Lastly, updates to the Men’s and Women’s World Cup are expected, thus bringing the missing selections, graphics and full licensing of the sport’s biggest tournaments, as EA has already announced.
