With just over a month to go before the launch of FIFA 23, the latest installment in the series that continues to bear the name FIFA, EA has shared an important battery of news about the game. Specifically, about two popular game modes, Pro Clubs and Volta modes.
First off, Richard Walz, Director of Game Design for Pro Clubs and VOLTA Football, confirms in a release of EA that FIFA 23 crossplay will not be available at launch in these two game modes. Still, the team is still working on providing “matchmaking across Pro Clubs, VOLTA and FUT Co-op, as well as cross-platform lobby invites and ultimately cross-platform Pro Clubs.”
One of the main novelties of the Pro Clubs modes is that now the players will be able to gain experience by completing skill challenges including online leaderboards and all to compete with your friends. The experience received will depend on each game, and there will be a weekly maximum yet to be determined. Check out.
In general, the entire experience system and levels of the Pro Club and Volta systems have been redesigned to make character progress faster and more versatile for the players. For example, the amount of experience needed to level up has been decreased, and 25 levels added more to the total, being in the first 25 levels where all the perks are unlocked and in the remaining 25, more slots and skill points to be able to experiment between different builds and game styles.
EA wants Pro Clubs and Volta to be two sides of the same coin, so will merge progress from both modes to earn season points and complete seasonal events. These events rotate every six weeks and offer new content for players.
Another noteworthy novelty is that Pro Clubs will have four new perks: one attacking, one creating chances and two defensive. This is what each one does:
- Poacher: Increases your overall finishing (including increases to volleys, finishing, and heading accuracy) when inside the box.
- Light Passing – Increases your teammates’ ability to catch and control your passes.
- Interceptor : Improves your ability to intercept and disrupt your opponent’s passes and shots when defending and very close to the ball.
- Chase Down – Increase your pace when defending immediately after a turnover. Advantage will be disabled after 40 seconds into the game if you have not regained possession.
Lastly for Pro Clubs mode, at the end of each match there will be a celebration screen where the merits of each player will be highlighted during the match. For example, the one who has run the most or the one who has made the most passes.
Other news in FIFA 23 Volta mode
As for Volta, this more carefree and casual aspect of FIFA 23, we know that it will have six new arcade games What Dribble King, which will take place in a moving circle where you have to collect trophies and avoid obstacles, or Obstacle Coursewhere you will have to run to the end in a field full of obstacles and shoot to score a goal against one of your opponents.
All this will be included in FIFA 23 when it hits stores next September 30th for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Stadia.
