According to the well-known insider football sheriff (@FutSheriff in Twitter) Electronic Arts plans to announce the crossplay for fifa 22 in the next few days, which would reach at least PlayStation and Xbox. However, the insider clarifies that crossplay will not be available in all game modes, such as FUT mode or FIFA Ultimate Team.
In February of this year we reported that FIFA 23 would be the first game to feature women’s leagues and crossplay since launch, so FIFA 22 crossplay could serve as a test for the next installment. Although FUT mode would not have crossplay in FIFA 22, it is possible that the next installment will have it.
Related: FIFA 22 would arrive on Xbox Game Pass on May 5 with EA Play.
In addition to having women’s leagues and cross-play since its launch, FIFA 23 is expected to be the last installment with this name, as Electronic Arts apparently already approved the name change to EA Sports FC. Even so, that would not affect the licenses of the players and teams, so it would continue to offer the same content in this aspect.
for now Electronic Arts has not made an official announcement, but crossplay is expected to come to quick matches and Pro Club and VOLTA modes later this year. Crossplay is expected to reach at least Xbox and PlayStation consoles, but it is unknown if it would also reach PC and Nintendo Switch.
