However, Ferrari has other plans and has elegantly ruled out the possible link to Valentino Rossi, at least as far as the hypercar category is concerned. Antonello Coletta, head of Ferrari’s GT sports division has assured that they do not plan to have Rossi in their project in the WEC queen class, since are looking for another profile of pilots. In this regard, Coletta points to pilots of greater youth and experience in resistance -prototypes- as the desired pilot profile, although does not rule out a collaboration with Valentino Rossi within other Ferrari projects in resistance with GTE or GT3 vehicles.
With extreme elegance, Antonello Coletta has stated in this regard: “With due respect for your person, I think Valentino Rossi is older than many of the great and best riders currently competing in endurance. Pilot we will face, because the opponents are fierce. It is as if one of our riders suddenly decided to race motorcycles. Valentino is having fun at the wheel of a GT, maybe he could give it a try in that class at Le Mans. We believe that there are many pilot options for our hypercar project with more experience. Valentino Rossi is not among the candidates.
