Although Meta confirmed the delay of end-to-end encryption (E2EE) on Instagram and Facebook Messenger at the end of 2022, the second continues to update to improve your security. Through its official website, the social network announced that Facebook Messenger will start notifying you when another user take a screenshotbut under certain conditions.
This novelty comes as part of the effort to strengthen end-to-end encryption. Messenger already notified if any of the participants of a chat took a screenshot of a message within the “Ephemeral mode”. Now, however, Facebook Messenger will notify you when you take a screenshot to a temporary message inside a secret conversation.
Last year we updated the setting for disappearing messages in our end-to-end encrypted chats and now we introduce a new notification when we detect someone taking a screenshot of a temporary message.

Of course, users will still be able to take screenshots within encrypted chats. However, a small message will appear at the bottom of the chat warning that “[dicha persona] I take a screenshot“.
E2EE encryption comes to Messenger groups
After announcing E2EE encryption for group chats and calls a year ago, Facebook Messenger has finally released them. Now, as they comment on their website, you can “connect with your friends and family in a private and secure way.”
In addition, it has been added compatibility between GIFs, stickers and reactions to conversations with E2EE protection. You will also be able to reply to a specific message within this type of conversations and at last an indicator will be shown when someone is writing a message.
Soon the users will be able to save any multimedia file received through encrypted conversations; It will also be possible to edit videos within the application. Facebook Messenger is concentrating on improving the possibilities of its encrypted conversations, which could ease the transition to possible end-to-end encryption by default in the application, although for that we will have to wait.
FacebookMessenger you have already rolled out the new features to your app and the web version. However, not everyone will receive them at the same time, so if you don’t have them you will have to wait a bit.
