The coronavirus pandemic claims a new victim on the Formula 1 calendar, this time the Japanese Grand Prix that was to be held on October 10 in Suzuka.
It has been more than a year and a half since the pandemic began, but its effects are still valid and Formula 1 is no stranger to it. The last victim has been the Japanese Grand Prix of the next month of October, that finally will not be able to be celebrated after officially communicating its cancellation.
So Liberty Media will have to get down to business finding a location to replace Suzuka if you want to keep a schedule of 23 Grand Prix. Previously, other events such as Australia had already been canceled, while the organizers of the Brazilian Grand Prix have requested a change of date to try to keep the event on this year’s calendar.

The cancellation of Suzuka means, among other things, that Honda will not be able to say goodbye to the Formula 1 at home and with the real possibility of saying goodbye with a victory. The Japanese brand had made the decision months ago to abandon the premier category.
