In 2016 the young people Julián Ríos and Antonio Torres began with the development of a bra to professionalize self-exploration of the breasts. At the time it was considered one of the greatest inventions for the early detection of breast cancer. Subsequently, it launched a network of smart thermographic booths, with which it was possible to serve more than 100,000 women in Puebla, Monterrey, Mexico City and the State of Mexico. Today, the company they founded evolves into Eva PACS, a system focused on radiological studies.
This new initiative is designed by the best radiologists in the country to support the digitization of cabinets, laboratories, clinics and hospitals. In this way, a growth in the retention rate and referred patients can be generated, significantly increasing the income of specialists.
Dr. Eloisa Asia Sánchez Vivar, specialist in radiology and imaging at the Hospital de Oncología, Centro Médico Nacional Siglo XXI and IMSS, and who has worked hand in hand with Eva PACS, comments on the reality of radiology in Mexico.
“It is a reality that radiologists in our country experience great frustration with the systems they have, as they are forced to use outdated and extremely slow platforms, which slow down processes instead of speeding them up. Also, the tools are limited, for example, if you want to do voice dictation in reports, you need to buy an additional license. These systems are constantly crashing and the tech support is lousy. This has a direct impact on the service radiologists provide to their patients ”.
Benefits offered
In contrast, with Eva PACS, savings of up to 90 percent are achieved in plate printing expenses and results reports, in addition to the studies being stored in the cloud for up to 10 years. On the other hand, it provides a differentiated value by having free technological tools, such as voice dictation for the generation of reports or the digital sending of results.
The Mexican Council of Radiology and Imaging points out that in Mexico there are currently 6,092 certified radiologists to satisfy all the country’s demand.
Additionally, an Eva PACS investigation revealed that approximately 70 percent of health institutions in Mexico continue to use plate printing methods within their radiology services. This evidences the need for solutions that lead to digitization. That is why the company promotes teleradiology, allowing specialist doctors access to a large number of patients and the rapid delivery of radiological reports.
It is an ally that provides benefits for health institutions, such as savings in the costs of printing radiological plates, zero cost for installation and training. In addition to being 50 percent more accessible than other options on the market, it guarantees a quality service, trust and safety for patients.
The evolution of Eva PACS represents a breakthrough in the development of medical diagnostic and interpretation technology tools and platforms that impact more patients through faster and more accurate diagnoses.
