Jumex: from the ‘blue can’ to being a great company
Jumex began its internationalization in the 1980s, when it began exporting its canned nectar to the United States.
Two years later, in 1984, the company opted for diversification in its product categories and launched a new presentation in a glass container with a capacity of 1 liter.
In 1985 the Aseptic Plant was built and Chupi Frut of 250 milliliters was created, a product for children that competed in the market with the well-known Frutsi. In 1989, another children’s drink was born called Pau-Pau, which can still be found on the market.
Today Grupo Jumex has seven factories in the country: four in the State of Mexico, where fruit is processed and beverages are packaged; one in Mexicali, dedicated exclusively to packaging; one in Monterrey, Nuevo León, and the last one in Chihuahua, where the concentrate of apples, peaches and some varieties of berries is made.
