Espanyol has announced through a statement on its social networks that it is opening up to the world of NFT collectibles along with Fayre and Web3. With this action they hope to increase the turnover of sponsorships related to NFTs by 15% this season.

“RCD Espanyol expects to increase the turnover of sponsorships related to NFTs by 15% this season. In this context, the Club will offer activations in the stadium using Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT) starting this season. through Fayre, a global NFT community for brands and fans, powered by Web3. The digital asset model is expected to grow in the coming years and become the second most lucrative source of income for the football industry, according to some studies.
Specifically, Fayre will create unprecedented NFTs that bridge the metaverse and real-life experiences for RCD Espanyol fans. With them, parakeet supporters will have exclusive access to certain stadium and team elementsas well as they will be able to benefit from other advantages that will be announced soon”.

“We are constantly working to open new business models that contribute to making RCD Espanyol grow and we believe in the NFT model”, says José María Duran, CEO of RCD Espanyol. “Soon we will enter fully into the world of NFT collectibles with limited collections. There will be different designs of historical assets and the Club’s mascot, a reference for the parakeet fans”, he adds.
For his part, Luis Carranza, executive director and founder of Fayre, assured that “the association allows Fayre to show how the utility and access to NFTs can help increase community participation.” And he added, “it’s also a powerful tool for increasing revenue.”
RCD Espanyol has more than two million followers on social networks and a growing number of followers. The Club experienced a 15% increase in followers when it secured promotion to the first division of LaLiga Santander.
