Smartphone companies are promoting the electronic SIM as the future of the industry and although its pace of adoption is not as fast, it is constant. According to data from Statista, in 2021 there will be 3.8 billion registered smartphone users worldwide and it is expected that by 2025 half will use an eSIM.
In Mexico, the companies that offer this service to their clients are Telcel, AT&T Y Movistaralthough with some limitations regarding the payment method, which users must take into account.
In order to contract the service with Telcel, it is necessary to go to an authorized service center to be able to activate the virtual card. In this case, it can only be purchased if a Max Unlimited Plan is paid.
AT&T is the second option, however, in order to activate it you need to have an AT&T Simple Plan, while with Movistar you can use it through a plan or through prepayment.
